    HOW DOES A DRAIN CLEANING SNAKE WORK?

    A drain snake, also called a plumbers snake or a drain auger is a device used to unclog drains. A drain snake has a long, flexible metal cable, with a corkskrew auger or blades attached to the end, and is rotated in a downward spiral into a drain until it reaches a clog, then the corkscrew auger ideally displaces the clog as if "chewing" away at it. There are several different types of plumbing snakes for home and commercial use.

    One variable that distinguishes a commercial drain snake from a home-use snake is the length and diameter of the cable. Commercial drain augers have very large motor powered machines that use various sized cables. The largest cable is used for cleaning and removing clogs from main drains, which are significantly larger around than the drainpipes under a kitchen sink. The commercial drain snake has a high-powered motor that rotates the cable through sludge much easier than smaller, home-use drain snakes and can reach a further distance.

    HOW DOES HYDRO JETTING WORK?

    A Hyro Jetter Is tipically used on older homes wich have cast iron drain pipes that have had many years worth of grease and sludge run down the kitchen sink drain line! Also alot of soaps from 20+ years ago left a thick soap scums/lime on the inner walls of the pipes that also helps grease & sludge build up on the inside, also drain lines that do not have proper grade on them tend to buildup with grease & sludge quicker than pipes that have good grade ( You Know What Goes Downhill Right? ) Hydro Jetting is typically done through an opening called a cleanout, which is an accessible opening present in every plumbing system and designed to allow plumbers to easily "clean out" debris and other clogs. A Hydro Jetter consists of a special high-pressure hose, a special high-strength nozzle, and a machine which pressurizes the water in the hose so that it can spray out of the nozzle at a pressurized rate of up to 2000 psi and a flow rate of 10 gpm to break up grease & sludge builup and send it down a clean pipe.

    Every plumbing system is designed to carry waste water "downstream" using gravity. The Hydro Jetting nozzle is tipicly placed at the "downstream" end of the plumbing system and it works its way "upstream" against gravity. That way, any debris that is cleared out by the Hydro Jetter will harmlessly flow downstream where the drainage path is already clear. The Hydro Jetter that I use is capable of clearing indoor and outdoor drain lines over a length of several hundred feet.

    WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HYDRO JETTING?
    Hydro Jetting can easily cut through and remove built-up mineral deposits, years of kitchen grease build up, soap scum build up and other obstructions clogging the inside of your kitchen & laundry drainage line.

    Although Hydro Jetting is strong enough to clear out roots from your sewer lines, any amount of root penetration is cause for serious concern. Root penetration pervasive enough to cause repeated backups indicates that the roots have gotten thick enough over time to damage the pipe and its protective waterproof inner coating. In those instances, I Will Probaly recommend having a  Sewer TV Camera Inspection done to determine the seriousness and the condition of your sewer or kitchen drain pipe!

    WHEN WOULD I NEED HYDRO JETTING?
    Hydro Jetting is an appropriate solution when clogs cannot be removed through traditional snaking. Such as heavy grease and sludge that has built up in pipes or drain lines over many years of washing dishes and soap scum buildup from laundry. A snake is used to remove a blockage in the line such as too many potato peels etc! A snake will not remove a pipe full of grease and sludge. It just moves it around! That is when a hydro jetter is required to disolve sludge build up and flush it down a clean drain line or pipe.

    The Hydro Jetter is the latest and the most effective tool known to restore old drain lines to a like-new condition. A line obstructed with years of accumulation of grease, soap and sludge build up can be restored with the use of a state of art high water pressure machine.
